Obviously, for any photographer, equipment is important. I know some of you out there are interested in just what camera kit I carry. So this post sets out to explain some of my important gear.
I am a Fujifilm mirrorless photographer and proud. I previously used Canon DSLR kit.
Camera Bodies
My current bodies:
- Fujifilm X-H2
- Fujifilm X-H1
- Fujifilm X-T20
My current main camera bodies are the X-H2 and X-H1. Not only do they look stunning, the quality of the images they can produce is exceptional. The X-T20 is my current backup and snapshot camera - it's small and perfectly capable of taking lovely shots - it is however much older, has poorer focus, is louder and is generally less intuitive.
Lenses
I currently use the following lenses:
- Fujifilm XF 23mm f1.4 R LM WR
- Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR
- Viltrox AF 13mm f1.4
The 23mm is my primary lens. This is arguably one of the finest pieces of Fujifilm glass ever created. It's perfection in a lens and I adore it.
The 50-140mm is my second most used lens. It is utilised for my longer shots and portraits. It's ideal for sitting at the back of a class and focussing just on the teacher. This lens is universally regarded as being the very best telephoto ever produced for the Fujifilm system so far.
The 13mm is more a niche lens. While I do use it for some shoots, it's a bit too wide for most situations and is more a specialised lens. Optically, it's wonderful for the most part.
Lighting
I currently use the following light gear:
- Godox V860III Speedlight
- Godox TT350F Speedlight
- Godox AD200 Strobes
- Godox X-Pro Trigger
I adore Godox products. They aren't super cheap, but they are portable and are the best lighting manufacturer going for Fuji. Alongside the flashes I use Godox produced softboxes.
